PGA Tour - The Memorial Tournament
Muirfield Village, Outright tips, skill sets required, BIG outsiders + Ginger snippets
4 Winning weeks in a row!
Charles Schwab Recap
150/1 Troy Merrit and 45/1 Charley Hoffman provided full place payouts last week for Gingerbets followers. Right from the off we were playing for places really with poor first rounds from our contingent. However, you can’t complain too much at place payouts of 30/1 and 9/1. This is now 4 weeks in a row with full place payouts and that’s not easily achieved betting on Golf. A winner feels just around the corner let’s hope we can land on it this week before we have a week off in the build-up to the 3rd Major of the season.

The Jack Nicklaus design at Muirfield Village, named after exclusive Muirfield Golf Links in Scotland where Jack won the 1966 Open Championship, requires strong approach play and skills on and around the fast, undulating greens. Key stats also include ball-striking and tee-to-green excellence as an emphasis, and longer hitters have an advantage with total driving and distance. But accuracy of the tee will allow for better approach opportunities with golfers having to work various shot-shapes into the greens.
If the course softens with the potential of rain in the lead-up, it will become more of an approach play shootout. Otherwise, firmer and slick greens will put more emphasis on short game strength, and you can count on run-off zones and waste areas to be trimmed shorter to repel errant approaches.
